Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a Marketing Manager candidate for a variety of Varsity Sports Programs. The primary duties for this position will include implementing and executing game day and event marketing strategies for Women's Basketball, Field Hockey, and Baseball, monitoring and collaborating on social media efforts and grassroots campaigns to increase brand recognition and awareness, assisting in the supervision of events to ensure coordinated event details are completed, and assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of any marketing employees as well as direct supervision of marketing interns. Additional sport involvement and responsibilities will be a possibility. This position will attend and actively contribute to the Athletic Department Marketing staff meetings and provide feedback, make recommendations on new policies, procedure, programs, and services for continual financial improvement, and perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of athletic marketing and promotions, ticket sales, community relations, social media, in-game management, and be able to successfully and efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Because of the nature of athletic schedules, the selected candidate may be required to work flexible hours to meet the various demands of the operation. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
