The Marketing and Media Manager (MMM) serves as the primary manager for promotion and publicity needs of the Office of Education Outreach. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Education Outreach, the MMM will oversee the planning and execution of successful marketing campaigns for Berklee City Music National, Berklee City Music Boston, and Community Affairs and Campus Engagement. The MMM must show flexibility and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, idea-driven, and creative environment. He/she will supervise multiple teams of work-study students and manage contracted hires in order to increase the visibility of the Office of Education Outreach by providing editorial support, creative guidance, and project management for high priority web, video, and publicity projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the Education Outreach team to develop and implement an effective online communications strategy using various communications channels, including Education Outreach websites, social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, blogs, e-newsletters, and webinars.
Responsible for planning, forecasting, and implementing marketing programs and promotions to increase the visibility of the program through a collaborative process that includes input and assistance from multiple team members from throughout the Office of Education Outreach.
Manage the department’s relationships and contracts with independent contractors, consultants, and external vendors such as web developers, publicists, video production companies, photographers, etc. The MMM will oversee procurement of these vendors dependent on project parameters, and will actively solicit a diverse group of vendors to meet the needs of the department.
Serve as the Office of Education Outreach’s primary point of contact with contracted PR firms as well as with the Office of Media Relations.
The MMM will ensure the consistency of Berklee branding and business objectives by working in conjunction with other departments on campus such as the offices of External Affairs, Communications, Media Relations, and IT.
Responsible for the department’s web presence and content management system including BerkleeCityMusicNetwork.org and Education Outreach sections of Berklee.edu. The MMM will manage website editing, multimedia content creation, and the design of new sites.
Manage the department’s social media accounts – including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube – to showcase the work of Berklee City Music National, Berklee City Music Boston, and Community Affairs and Campus Engagement.
Oversee the creation of video features for the Office of Education Outreach.
Collaborate with public relations departments at network sites to create visibility for Berklee City Music through the use of press releases and the Berklee brand.
Provide editorial oversight for all Education Outreach print marketing collateral, ensuring their quality and consistency. The MMM will also assist with design, development, and implementation of marketing collateral as needed.
Develop and manage the marketing budget for the Office of Education Outreach.
