Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Salary: $45,000 - $49,000
The Marketing Director is responsible for planning and implementing all marketing and media aspects for the Anderson Center. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop annual season brochure for Anderson Center events.
Develop strategies for advertising/promotions of individual shows and the sale of individual tickets, including the production of posters, postcards, flyers, web and print ads.
Write and distribute all press releases for productions and projects.
Meet with local media representatives to negotiate advertising fees.
Manage and promote a public relations campaign with press and critics, pitching stories for advance feature articles, and when possible, arranging for interviews with guest artists. Confirm press comps for shows. Maintain an updated media list for the Anderson Center.
Maintain and keep organized up-to-date information, photos, graphics and videos for shows. Maintain archival files of press articles and printed materials.
Develop concepts and schedule all print/electronic advertising and promotions efforts.
Draft e-blasts and assist with other electronic communications such as newsletters and audience surveys.
In conjunction with the University's Communications and Marketing office, maintain website, particularly ensuring accurate show-specific event pages.
Manage existing and create new social media accounts. Ability to stay current in social media trends. Monitor and analyze social media traffic results.
Keep displays, information tables and off-site distribution sites up-to-date with current posters and collateral.
Assist in procuring event sponsors and advertisers for event program books.
High-level writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Graphic design skills, including design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign a plus
Online marketing experience and social media best practices knowledge
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook
Familiarity with MailChimp or other email marketing systems
Confidence in learning new technologies
The Marketing Director will have a Bachelor's degree and two or more years of professional experience in marketing
Passion for and background in the arts is a huge plus
