CHEMTREC, a division of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), currently has an opportunity for a Relations Development Manager. CHEMTREC is a 24/7, Level 1 emergency call center that provides information to emergency responders and others who need assistance during hazardous materials incidents (e.g. spills, fires, leaks, or personnel exposures), as well as provides a mechanism for shippers of hazardous materials to comply with certain domestic and international regulations which require an emergency telephone number to be displayed on shipping and other documentation, where immediate access to product information is necessary. CHEMTREC has aspects of both a public service and a commercial organization, and provides services globally from its facility in Falls Church, Virginia.
The position is responsible for the planning, development and management of CHEMTREC’s relationships with different entities, such as potential key customers, trade associations, government agencies, marine ports, large carriers and other similar transportation-related entities. The position is further responsible for the development and management of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Commercial Agreements with foreign Emergency Response Information Provider (ERIPs), such as NRCC (China) and SETIQ (Mexico). The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Sales and Marketing.
Required qualifications include Bachelor's degree in business or related field and at least three years’ experience in business relationship management, as well as experience in international sales and marketing and/or perspective of condition and cultures beyond the domestic US marketplace. Strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively, listen to customers, and provide appropriate solutions, demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently while also working in a team environment as well as exercise sound judgment, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SharePoint and Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to travel domestically and internationally are a must.
