Wildwood School is a preeminent, progressive coed, college-preparatory day school in West Los Angeles serving 752 students from kindergarten through 12th grade on two campuses. The school is seeking a collaborative Marketing and Communications Associate to join a fast-paced, dynamic,
10-person Advancement Department.
As a member of the marketing and communications team, under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Associate is responsible for managing communications projects of varying complexity, implementing, and tracking day-to-day marketing and communications deliverables as well as long-term planning and production. The Associate has a strong understanding of the school’s culture, brand identity, and message strategy. An active member of the advancement department, the Associate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
eNews – Develop content and timeline for bi-weekly eNews in collaboration with the MarCom Team; collect copy and assets from a variety of school community resources and personnel; draft news items and take photos when needed; input and format in content management system and email program: proofread; send to stakeholders and directors for approval; implement distribution.
Stand-alone emails – Produce email communications on an as-needed basis. Interface with the senders to obtain content and timeline for compiling, formatting, and approvals. Implement list development and distribution.
Constituent-specific eNewsletters – in collaboration with advancement colleagues, produce and distribute periodic digital newsletters to: grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, general community.
Calendars, Planners, Parent Handbook – Gather content for and produce annual printed calendar, student planners, parent and grandparent calendars, digital parent handbook.
Curriculum updates – Gather content for and implement changes to elementary, middle, and upper school curriculum annually.
PowerPoint – Work with administrative colleagues and division heads to update presentations throughout the year and during admission season and for State of School.
Flyer and handout creation – Develop and produce simple flyers for events and programs throughout the school year.
Writing and copy editing - Report on classroom and campus activity, athletics events, performances, art gallery openings, events, and other happenings for Wildwood’s weekly eNews communications and articles on the website and in publications; assist in copy editing for all print and digital communications.
Website CMS - Input news articles into the news manager, update faculty credentials, review athletics department inputs, and provide other content management as directed by Director of Digital Communications and Media.
Photography - Take photos at various school events and happenings, edit for print, create photo collages, and galleries.
Mail house fulfillment – Assure that publications and mailings are delivered to mail house; request mailing lists from database manager and provide to mail house; arrange payment.
Remit envelopes – Update and order remit envelopes as needed throughout the year.

Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and tasks of varying complexity, with gravitas and attention to detail, meeting deadlines, prioritizing competing workloads, and working with a great attitude in a high volume, fast-paced environment
Available for occasional evening and weekend assignments
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field
Three to five years communications and design experience with increasing responsibility
Fluency in software programs for Mac and PC, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Keynote, Outlook, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere; After Effects; and iMovie,
Fluency in online web design and communications platforms such as Finalsite, Wordpress, and MailChimp/Constant Contact
