The Marketing Coordinator will support the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and its research centers. This position has three primary purposes: 1) support the School's Director in the social media marketing of criminal justice educational programs, manage the School’s website, and ensure a strong web presence; 2) work with the Directors of the Center for Crime and Community Resilience, Institute on Race and Justice, and the Institute for Security and Public Policy to market research capacities, research findings, and policy commentary by faculty and research staff; 3) provide support to undergraduate program operations and curriculum management. The Marketing Coordinator will support faculty and staff, and back up the front office when necessary.
Bachelor's degree is required with at least one year of prior work experience in an academic or office environment. Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook are required. The successful candidate will have website management experience, knowledge of Word Press and Hoot Suite, basic understanding of writing web codes, experience updating and editing websites, marketing skills related to social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, and a willingness to learn and abide by Northeastern's best practices for web presence and marketing.
The successful candidate must be able to perform under minimal supervision, must be punctual, organized, and pay close attention to detail. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, take initiative to problem solve, and must respect confidentiality. Demonstration of professionalism, have good communication skills, be a team player in a small office environment, and strong customer service skills are a must.
